Terms of Service
Last updated: October 17, 2026 · Version 0
This is an archived version. It is no longer in force; see the current version.
1. Acceptance, parties and definitions
1.1 These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the havréo website and mobile application (together, the "Platform"), operated by Technologies Domo MTL inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Québec, with its head office at 800 rue du Square-Victoria Montréal (Québec) H3C0B4 Canada ("havréo ", "we", "us").
1.2 By accepting these Terms, either by clicking a box indicating your acceptance, executing a document that references these Terms, by creating an account or using the Platform (or making or accepting any payment), or by otherwise indicating your acceptance of these Terms, you: (1) confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms; and (2) in the case of a corporation, organization, business or other legal entity for which you act, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind it to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
1.3 In these Terms:
- "Booking" means a confirmed request by a Client for Services from a Service Provider at a stated price, date and time.
- "Client" means an individual or business who uses the Platform to find and book Services (Resident are included in Client definition).
- "Commission" means the fee havréo retains from the Service Price paid to the Service Provider, calculated as a percentage of the Service Price.
- "Service Provider" means an independent individual or business offering Services through the Platform.
- "Services" means household and personal services offered by Service Providers, through the Plaform.
- "Service Fee" means the fee havréo charges the Client for using the Platform, calculated as a percentage of the Service Price and shown as an amount before the Client submits a request.
- "Service Price" means the price set by the Service Provider for the Services.
- "Total Price" means the full amount the Client pays for a Booking: the Service Price, the Service Fee and applicable taxes, less any promotion.
- "User" means any Client or Service Provider.
2. Nature of the Platform
2.1 havréo is a technology platform.
havréo provides an online marketplace that allows Clients to find, book and pay for Services offered by independent Service Providers. havréo does not itself perform nor guarantee the Services.
2.2 No employment relationship.
Service Providers are independent contractors or businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners or representatives of havréo. Each Service Provider decides whether to accept a Booking and determines how the Services are performed, using their own skills, tools and judgment.
2.3 Contract for Services.
When a Booking is confirmed, a contract for the Services is formed directly between the Client and the Service Provider. havréo is not a party to that contract, except for its role in collecting payment and bringing the two parties together described in section 4.
2.4 Verification.
Before activating a Service Provider account, havréo has a third-party provider verify the Service Provider's identity and Canadian criminal record, with their consent. These verifications are limited to the databases consulted and to the information available when they are made. havréo does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, conduct, quality, safety or suitability of any Service Provider. Clients are responsible for choosing a Service Provider, particularly one who will care for a child or an animal; we recommend using the Platform's messaging to contact the Service Provider before a first Booking of this kind.
2.5 No guarantee of availability.
havréo does not guarantee that Services or Service Providers will be available in your area, at the time you want or at a particular price.
3. Accounts and eligibility
3.1 You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account.
3.2 Clients must request Services for a residence located in an area served by the Platform, as shown on the Platform.
3.3 You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us without delay at support@havreo.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
3.4 Each person may hold only one account. Accounts are personal and cannot be transferred.
3.5 havréo may refuse to open an account, or suspend or close an account, at its own discretion, including for false information, fraud, a safety concern, a breach of these Terms, or conduct that harms havréo, its Users or its reputation. We will notify you where reasonably possible. Confirmed Bookings cancelled as a result are refunded.
3.6 Devices and connectivity.
You are responsible for the device, operating system and internet connection you use to access the Platform, and for keeping the application updated. Some features may not work on outdated versions.
4. Bookings, payments and fees
4.1 Booking.
Before you submit a request, the Platform shows you the Service Provider, a description of the Services, the date and time, the Total Price and taxes, and the applicable cancellation conditions. You must expressly accept these Terms and the Booking details before submitting the request. The Service Provider has 60 minutes to accept it. A Booking is confirmed only when the Service Provider accepts it and you receive a written confirmation; otherwise the request is cancelled at no cost.
4.2 Payment collection.
Clients pay the Total Price to havréo through the Platform. havréo collects this payment as the limited payment-collection agent of the Service Provider. Payment of the Total Price to havréo releases the Client from their payment obligation to the Service Provider. havréo pays the Service Provider, minus the Commission, after the Services are completed.
4.3 Payment processor.
Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. havréo does not store complete payment card numbers. Your use of the payment service may also be subject to the processor's terms.
4.4 Payment timing.
When you submit a request, an authorization hold for the Total Price is placed on your payment method. The amount is charged when the Service Provider accepts the request. If the request is not accepted within 60 minutes, it is cancelled and the hold is released.
4.5 Non-circumvention.
For 12 months after a Client and a Service Provider first connect through the Platform, all Services between them must be booked and paid through the Platform. If you arrange or pay for such Services outside the Platform, havréo may close your account and claim a circumvention fee, payable by the Service Provider, of the Service Fee and the Commission that would have applied and a penalty of 50% of these fees, which represents a reasonable estimate of havréo's lost revenue. Payments made outside the Platform are not covered by havréo's support, refund or dispute processes.
4.6 Cancellation by the Client.
You may cancel a Booking through the Platform. If you cancel more than 4 hours before the scheduled start, the Total Price is refunded in full. If you cancel 4 hours or less before the scheduled start, 50% of the Total Price is refunded. No refund is given for a cancellation made at or after the scheduled start, or if the Service Provider cannot access the premises at the scheduled time for a reason attributable to you. Applicable taxes apply to cancellation fees, in accordance with tax laws.
4.7 Cancellation by the Service Provider.
If a Service Provider cancels or does not show up, havréo will, at its choice, propose a replacement provider at the same price or refund the Total Price. If you decline a replacement, the Total Price is refunded. havréo has no other liability for the cancellation.
4.8 Claims about Services.
Report any problem through the Platform within 48 hours after the scheduled end of the Services, with photos or other supporting evidence. havréo reviews claims and decides, at its own discretion, whether to grant a refund, a partial refund or a credit. The quality and performance of Services remain a matter between the Client and the Service Provider.
4.9 Fees and pricing.
havréo sets the Service Fee and the Commission and may change it, as well as the features of the Platform, at any time for future Bookings. The Total Price shown when you confirm a Booking does not change for that Booking.
4.10 Taxes.
Prices include or show separately the GST and QST, as applicable. Havréo collects GST / QST on the Service Fee and on any applicable cancellation fees.
4.11 Failed payments and chargebacks.
If a payment is declined or reversed for a Booking whose Services were performed, havréo may charge the amount owing to any payment method on file, suspend your account until it is paid, and recover it, including through a collection agency, together with any collection costs and expenses. Reversing a charge for Services that were performed, other than in the cases provided by law, is a breach of these Terms.
4.12 Promotions, credits and referral codes.
havréo may offer promotional codes, credits or referral rewards, subject to the conditions stated with each offer. Credits have no cash value unless the law requires otherwise, cannot be transferred, and may be cancelled if obtained through fraud or abuse. havréo may modify or end any promotion at any time, without affecting credits already validly issued.
5. User obligations and prohibited conduct
5.1 Clients agree to: give accurate information about the Services needed and the residence; provide safe access to the premises; disclose any relevant risk (e.g., an aggressive animal, a child's allergy or medical condition); and comply with the rules of their building or syndicate of co-owners.
5.2 Service Providers agree to: hold all licences, permits, qualifications and insurance required by law for their Services; perform the Services with care and in accordance with the Booking; comply with applicable laws, including tax obligations; and keep confidential any information learned at a Client's residence. Service Providers also agree to comply with all municipal regulations and further agree not to render, offer, or attempt to render any illegal, unauthorized, or prohibited services through the Platform.
5.3 No User may:
- provide false information or impersonate another person;
- use the Platform for any illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger another User;
- arrange to bypass the Platform's payment system for Services initiated through it;
- post false, misleading or defamatory reviews or content;
- collect other Users' personal information other than as needed for a Booking;
- interfere with the Platform's security or operation, including through scraping, bots or reverse engineering.
5.4 Safety emergencies.
In an emergency, call 911 first. Then report the incident to havréo at support@havreo.com or at +1 (438) 544-4363 (calls and text messages). This line is not an emergency service.
5.5 Monitoring and moderation.
havréo may, without being required to, monitor messages, content and activity on the Platform to detect fraud, safety risks and breaches of these Terms. havréo may remove content, restrict features or take any other action on an account that it considers appropriate.
6. Reviews, content and intellectual property
6.1 Reviews.
After a Service Provider marks a Booking as completed, the Client may rate it from 1 to 5 and add a comment and tags. The rating appears on the Service Provider's public profile without the Client's name. The comment and tags are visible only to the Service Provider and havréo, unless the Client chooses to publish them. The Service Provider sees the Client's name next to the review and may reply; the reply is public only if the comment is. Reviews cannot be edited once submitted. havréo may, without being required to, moderate, decline to publish or remove any review that breaches these Terms or that it reasonably considers false, abusive, irrelevant or unverifiable. havréo does not remove reviews only because they are negative.
6.2 Your content.
You keep ownership of the content you post (profile, photos, reviews, messages). You grant havréo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and translate that content to operate and provide the Platform, for as long as the content remains on the Platform and, for reviews, after your account is closed in de-identified form (section 7.16). You confirm that you have the rights needed to grant this licence.
6.3 havréo's property.
The Platform, including its software, design, text, logos and the havréo trademark, belongs to havréo or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. havréo grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Platform in accordance with these Terms. No other right is granted.
6.4 Feedback.
You assign to havréo all rights in any suggestions, ideas or feedback you provide about the Platform, and havréo may use them freely, without payment or attribution.
6.5 Aggregated and de-identified data.
havréo may use information about how the Platform is used to operate, secure and improve it. havréo may share this information with third parties only in aggregated or de-identified form that does not identify you, and only as permitted by law and described in the Privacy Policy.
6.6 Third-party services.
The Platform relies on or links to services provided by third parties, such as payment processing, mapping, identity verification and app stores. These services are governed by their providers' own terms and privacy policies. havréo is not responsible for third-party services, their availability or their acts and omissions.
6.7 Beta and new features.
havréo may offer features identified as "beta" or "pilot" before general release. To the extent permitted by law, they are provided "as is", and havréo may change or withdraw them at any time without notice.
6.8 havréo Assistant.
The Platform offers Clients an optional assistant powered by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini). It helps you find Services, Service Providers, availabilities and your Bookings, and can prepare a payment page that you complete yourself. It cannot make, cancel or pay for a Booking. Its answers may be incomplete or inaccurate; the information shown on the booking, the Terms and payment pages prevails. Your conversations are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Privacy, liability, disputes and general terms
7.1 Privacy.
havréo collects, uses and shares personal information as described in its Privacy Policy, in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. Users who receive another User's personal information through the Platform (such as an address or access instructions) may use it only to perform or receive the booked Services.
7.2 havréo's liability.
havréo is an intermediary. It is not liable for the acts, omissions, conduct or Services of Service Providers or Clients, including any damage, loss, theft or injury that occurs during or in connection with Services. Toward Service Providers and any User, havréo is not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits or loss of data, and its total liability is limited as set out in section 8.
7.3 Availability.
To the extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". havréo does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, and may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
7.4 Mandatory law.
The exclusions and limitations in these Terms apply to the fullest extent permitted by law. They do not exclude liability for bodily or moral injury caused by havréo or for intentional or gross havréo’s fault, or any right a consumer has under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot be waived.
7.5 Indemnity.
Each User agrees to defend and indemnify havréo, its directors, employees, executives, its affiliates (including their directors, executives, employees) and agents against any third-party claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from that User's use of the Platform, Bookings or Services, content, or breach of these Terms or the law. For Clients who are consumers, this applies to the extent permitted by law. Service Providers have additional obligations under section 8.
7.6 Termination.
You may close your account at any time; confirmed Bookings remain subject to section 4. havréo may suspend or close any account, or discontinue the Platform, at any time and for any reason, with notice where reasonably possible, or immediately for a serious reason. Confirmed Bookings that cannot proceed as a result are refunded.
7.7 Changes to these Terms.
havréo may amend these Terms, including the Service Fee, the Commission, cancellation conditions, features and rules of use. For Clients who are consumers, we will send a written notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect, setting out the new clause (and the old one, if amended), the effective date, and your right to refuse the change and close your account without cost before that date. For Service Providers and other non-consumer Users, changes take effect on the date stated in the notice, at least [15] days after it is sent, and continued use of the Platform means acceptance.
7.8 Complaints and disputes.
Before starting any proceeding, we ask that you contact us at support@havreo.com and both parties must try to resolve the matter.
7.9 Governing law and jurisdiction.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Montréal have exclusive jurisdiction.
7.10 Language.
A French version of these Terms is also available. Les utilisateurs sont avisés qu’une version française de ces termes et conditions est disponible sur le site internet et l’application mobile d’havréo.
7.11 General.
If a clause is held invalid, the others remain in force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
7.12 Security and confidentiality incidents.
havréo maintains reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information on the Platform. If a confidentiality incident involving your personal information presents a risk of serious injury, havréo will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information as required by law. You must also protect your account (section 3.3).
7.13 Subcontractors.
havréo may use subcontractors and service providers of its choice to operate the Platform, without notice to Users.
7.14 Force Majeure.
havréo and Service Provider are not liable for failing to perform an obligation because of an event of superior force, such as a natural disaster, a widespread outage of internet or payment networks, a pandemic or an act of public authority. If a Booking cannot take place for this reason, the Client receives a refund.
7.15 Electronic communications and notices.
You agree to receive notices, receipts and other communications about your account and Bookings electronically, at the email address in your account or through the Platform. Notices to havréo must be sent to support@havreo.com. This does not cover marketing messages, which require your separate consent and which you may refuse at any time.
7.16 Effect of closing an account and survival.
When an account is closed, we keep and delete your information as described in the Privacy Policy. Reviews you posted may remain on the Platform in de-identified form. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply after an account is closed, including sections 4 (amounts owing and refunds), 6, 7.2 to 7.5 and 7.8 to 7.10, remain in force.
7.17 Entire agreement and headings.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any conditions shown when you make a Booking form the entire agreement between you and havréo about the Platform. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

8. Additional terms for Service Providers
8.1 Business users.
Service Providers use the Platform for the purposes of their business and are not consumers in their dealings with havréo.
8.2 No guarantee of Bookings.
havréo does not guarantee any number of Bookings or level of income. havréo determines, at its discretion, how listings are displayed, ranked and recommended.
8.3 Service Fee, Commission and payouts.
havréo retains the Service Fee and the Commission from each Booking. havréo may change them anytime. Payouts for Service Provider are every two weeks for Services completed during the preceding period. havréo may withhold, delay or offset any payout to cover refunds, chargebacks, circumvention fees or amounts owing, or while investigating a complaint, suspected fraud or a breach of these Terms.
8.4 Taxes, permits and insurance.
Service Providers are solely responsible for their income taxes, GST/QST registration and remittance, CNESST and other employer obligations toward any helpers, and all permits required for their Services and all insurance required by law. Furthermore, they must maintain civil liability insurance of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence and provide proof on request. havréo may share information with tax authorities where required by law.
8.5 Deactivation.
havréo may suspend or deactivate a Service Provider account at any time, including immediately, for a breach of these Terms, a safety concern, a pattern of complaints or low ratings, or any other legitimate business reason. Payouts for Services already performed remain payable, subject to section 8.3.
8.6 Limitation of liability.
havréo's total liability to a Service Provider for all claims arising from these Terms or the Platform is limited to the Commissions havréo retained from that Service Provider's Bookings during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. havréo is not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of business opportunity or loss of data. These limits do not apply to bodily or moral injury caused by havréo, or to havréo’s intentional or gross fault.
8.7 Indemnity.
Each Service Provider will defend and indemnify havréo, its directors, employees, its affiliates (including their directors, employees) and agents against all claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from their Services, including bodily injury, property damage, theft or any incident involving a child or an animal in their care, and from their breach of these Terms or of the law.
8.8 Non-solicitation.
During the time they use the Platform and for 12 months afterwards, Service Providers may not solicit Clients they met through the Platform to book or pay for Services outside it. Section 4.5 applies to any breach.
8.9 Confidentiality.
Service Providers must keep confidential any non-public information about Havréo, its pricing, its technology and its Clients, and use it only to perform Bookings.
8.10 Jurisdiction and Class Action Waiver.
Any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the relationship between havréo and a Service Provider shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Québec, sitting in the judicial district of Montréal. Each party irrevocably attorns to the jurisdiction of such courts and waives any objection based on venue or forum non conveniens.
Nothing in this Section limits either party's right to seek interim, provisional, conservatory, or injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
